Annabell Mitchell Obituary

Annabell Lutes Mitchell, 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro AR.  She was born February 15, 1932, to Walter “Bud” and Ruby Wright Lutes in Blytheville AR.  She graduated from Burdette High School in Burdette AR in 1950 and was married to John Haskin Mitchell on December 2, 1950.  They were married for 69 years until John’s passing on November 11, 2020.

Annabell was employed by many different companies:  Douglass Aircraft, GMAC,  Blytheville Air Force Base, Welfare Dept., Social Security Administration, and finally retired as a Social Worker for the Blytheville Public Schools.  After her retirement, she volunteered as a teacher’s aide at Gosnell’s Kindergarten.  She was a faithful member of New Liberty Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years and then at First Baptist Manila.  Her love for her Lord, her family, and others was evident in her words and actions.

(Becky) Lutes of Cumming GA; sister Gloria Farmer of Northport FL; daughter, Susan (Tracy) Keller of Manila AR; son, Greg (Patti Jo) Mitchell of Jonesboro AR; two grandchildren:  Megan (Ralo) Brown of Jonesboro and Will (Abbi) Clark of Little Rock AR; Three great-grandchildren:  Jude Vincent Mitchell, Ruby Rae Brown, and Raleigh Mae Brown, all of Jonesboro AR, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Her family would like to thank the staff of The Bungalows where she lived and thrived from August 2022 until September 2023, and the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House staff for their loving care.

Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church, Manila AR on Monday, October 16, 2023 from 12:00 - 2:00p.m.  With a celebration of life to follow at 2:00 p.m.  A private graveside service for the immediate family will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Blytheville.
