Matthew Conrad Enos

Matthew Conrad Enos, of Armorel, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Gosnell Heathcare.  He was born in Newton MA on December 21, 1933 to Manuel and Mary Jessie Sousa Enos.  He was raised in Provence Town MA.

Matthew played many sports in high school:  basketball, football, baseball, track, and swimming.

After graduating from high school in 1952 he joined the United States Air Force and spent the next 30 years serving his country.  Matthew is a veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War.  His service took him to many different bases in the United States, and across the world.  While stationed in Germany he met his wife, Luise B. Reif, and they married in 1954.  They raised three boys in the remaining years of the Air Force service.  He was blessed to be able to take his entire family to many of the bases in the United States and overseas.  Matthew was stationed at Blytheville Air Force Base from 1978-1982 where he retired and has lived for the past 45 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Luise B. Enos; one son, Mark M. Enos; and his parents, Manuel and Jessie Enos; and one sister, Rachel Timnes.

He is survived by his two sons:  Michael (Rhonda) Enos, of Blytheville and Hans Enos, of Blytheville; five grandchildren:  Travis (Amanda) Miller, of Blytheville, Shannon (Mandy) Miller, of Steele MO, Carrie (Jamie) Magers, of Jackson TN, Nicholas (Haddasah) Enos, of Blytheville, and Jacob (Abby) Enos, of Manila AR; eight great-grandchildren:  Briley (Austin) Manuel, of Steele MO, Lily Miller, of Steele MO, Taia Carter, of Jackson TN, Saquon Percival-Enos, of Blytheville, Emily Enos, of Manila AR, Addi Miller, Livi Schaeffer, and Mili Miller, all of Blytheville.

A private celebration of his life will be held in the future.  Memorial flowers may be sent to Carney Funeral Home at 1501 Byrum Rd, Blytheville AR.
