Albert "Gene" Rhodes

Albert “Gene” Rhodes, 79, passed away at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 14, 1939 in Blytheville Arkansas to Eddie Rhodes and Evlynn Ledbetter Rhodes. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1956-1960.

He was a life long truck driver. He loved to fish, play with his beloved dog “Peppy”, and being around family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Kay Pulley; and a nephew, Dennis Davis.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Donna Hargett Rhodes, of the home;

Five sons: Evan (Mandy) Rhodes of Folsom LA, Jeff (Brandy) Rhodes of Steele MO, Tony (Angie) Rhodes of Caldwell MO, Kevin Rhodes and Carl Rhodes, both of Shelton WA;

One step-son: David (Anetha) Hill of Heber Springs AR;

One sister: Gail (Robert Earl) Davis of Gosnell AR;

Three brothers: Ed Rhodes and Van Rhodes, both of Gosnell AR and Rodney (Paula) Rhodes of Meridian MS;

11 grandchildren;

A special niece, Shelly Richardson, of Gosnell AR;

And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 15th, at 2:00 p.m. at Carney Funeral Home in Blytheville, with Dr. Tommy J. Carney officiating. Visitation will be 12:00 to 2:00. Burial will follow in Carney Cemetery.
