Amanda Herring Obituary

Amanda Herring, 33, of McCrory, AR, formerly of Blytheville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 3, 2017, as the result of an automobile accident. She was born on June 26, 1983 in Monroe, Louisiana to Vester Louis Watt and Nancy L. Person Watt. She died at Unity Health Center in Newport, AR.

Amanda graduated from Blytheville High School and then earned an A.A. degree in Criminal Justice. She worked as an ADC officer for some time before pursuing other vocations. At the time of her death, she had just begun a job at Olive Garden. She was a member of Tenth Street Baptist Church.

When she was a child, Amanda was a tomboy and she loved to go deer hunting and squirrel hunting with her Dad. She enjoyed playing softball and other sports. She had an outgoing personality, but with the birth of her son, she welcomed the role of motherhood.

Amanda was known for her unique sense of humor. She was fun to be around; she loved pop culture, and she loved cooking, especially spicy foods! She enjoyed cooking tilapia for Chip, and she liked turnip greens, anything Alfredo, Dr. Pepper flavored Icees, squirrel dumplings, and her grandma's tomato gravy.

Her favorite hobby was crocheting. She was always crocheting things in her spare time and then gave them away to everybody. She loved dogs, and her little chihuahua, Petri was very special to her.

Amanda was very patriotic. She loved the colors, red, white, and blue. The family asks that persons attending the visitation and/or service wear red, white, or blue as a tribute to Amanda.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Marion Washington Watt, Thomas Edwin Person and Bonnie Jackson Person.
