Annie Irene Stevenson

Annie Irene Stevenson, 72, formerly of Blytheville, went to be with her Lord on July 23, 2018. She was born on November 18, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois to Walter Thomas and Annie Johnson Rainey.

Annie is remembered for being able to share joy with others. Always with a smile on her face, she loved to make people laugh and loved flowers. She was also a great cook. Many referred to her as “Pie” and loved to be in her company. As easy going as she was, honesty was important to her, and she would tell you like she saw it. She enjoyed watching her turner classic movies and did puzzles from time to time. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Annie was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Randall Maurice Stevenson; and a brother Kerry Rainey of Blytheville, Arkansas.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Tommy Stevenson of the home. She also leaves behind two children: Tommy Stevenson Jr of Chicago, Illinois and Brigette Stevenson of Jonesboro, Arkansas; five grandchildren; Antoinette Irene Thomas, Randall Maurice Stevenson Jr, Shacora Allia Neely, Dontel Rashad Neely, Matisha Brishun Neely; and five great-grandchildren; one brother, Thomas Rainey Jr; three sisters, Lea Watson, Classie Neely, and Brenda Cohen.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 2nd at 2:00 in the afternoon at Holy Tabernacle Church in Blytheville with Bishop John Blair officiating. Visitation will be at Carney Funeral Home Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. Burial will be in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be offered at carneyfuneralhome.com.
