Carolyn Alford Richardson, 77, of Blytheville passed away early Friday morning at Heritage Square Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Blytheville on October 23, 1936 to Jimmy and Annie Mae Wicker Alford. She was a lifelong resident of Blytheville. She was a member of Well Spring Assembly of God (formerly Blytheville First Assembly).
She was a member of the Red Hat Society and had become active in breast cancer awareness. She was a hard worker and retired from two jobs. She worked for Randall Company as a factory worker in the packing department for 30 years. She worked over 10 years as the Deli Manager at Hays. She loved shopping with her sisters and sisters-in-law and they could shop all day in one store! She was a homemaker at heart. She took great delight in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the glue that held the family together. She kept up with everyone's birthdays and she was instrumental in planning the family reunions.
She was preceded in death by her parents;
Three brothers: Burley Alford, Pat Alford, and James Alford;
Three sisters: Lela Mae Smith, Ola Mae Petty, and Ophelia Eagan VanHorn;
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Charlie Richardson, of Blytheville;
Her daughter, Connie Mosley of Blytheville;
Her son, Charles W. Richardson, of Macon GA;
Two grandsons: Matt Mosley of Branson MO, and Dylan Richardson of Macon GA;
One great-grandson, Connor Mosley of Branson MO;
One great-granddaughter, Avery Mosley of Branson MO;
Three brothers: Jimmy Alford of Sikeston MO, her twin brother, Harold Alford, of Hot Springs AR, and Frank Alford of West Memphis AR;
Numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Carney Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tommy Carney officiating. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Burial will be in Carney Cemetery.
