Mrs. Cathey Reed Reams, 59, of Blytheville, passed from this life on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Blytheville on August 5, 1958 to Jack and Lois Poff Reed.
Cathey was very proud to have been the first civilian dispatcher of the Blytheville Police Department. She retired after serving 20 years. She later went to work for the Office of Child Support Enforcement, where she was employed at the time of her death. Her co-workers became close friends during her more than 12 years of employment there.
She was an avid supporter of the Humane Society and transported rescue dogs from Blytheville to wherever they needed to go. She had two special dogs of her own: German Shepherds named Hilda and Evan. They got along great with her cat, Boots.
Cathey loved to hunt, especially deer; she was a great fisherman, and she enjoyed playing cards with anyone who would play with her, especially her sister, and sisters-in-law.
Family was very important to her. The children said that she took really good care of all of them including their dad, and the grandchildren, who were very special to her. She made sure everyone had everything they needed.
She is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 28 years, Charles Reams;
Three daughters: Jennifer Williams (and Chris) of Paragould, Charlotte Philbrook, (and Aaron) of Blytheville, and Audrey Beal of Ward, AR;
Seven grandchildren: Austin Holladay, Ashton Lamb, Ashleigh Lamb, Steven Danner, Jr., Harley Danner, Dillion Beal, and Nathan Beal;
one great-granddaughter: Kinsley Danner;
two brothers: Gary Reed (and Anna) and Ricky Reed;
one sister: Pam Hughes;
and a host of family and friends who will miss her dearly.
