Mrs. Cheryl Wolfe McCord, 62, of Blytheville went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 20 at St. Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro.
Born April 6, 1949, she was the daughter of Carlton Edward Wolfe and Adelle Gibbs Wolfe.
Mrs. McCord was a member of the New Liberty Baptist Church, and she loved to go to church and greatly enjoyed listening to Christian music. She also loved selling real estate, and she was known as a "people person." Her family lovingly said that she was a "talker," and she never met a stranger.
She was an excellent cook, especially of cakes, pies, and brownies. Her hobbies included sewing, doing crafts, working outside in the yard, and spending time with her granddaughter. She also made birdhouses to auction for patients at the Dialysis center. She was a caring, loving person and a wonderful wife and mother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Carolyn Garrett, and four brothers: Billy, Sam, James (Buddy) and Charlie Wolfe.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Edward McCord, Sr. of Blytheville;
One son, Walter E. McCord, Jr. and his wife, Becky, of Jacksonville, N.C.
One granddaughter, Kennedy Claire McCord of Jacksonville, N.C.
Two brothers: Julian Wolfe of Victoria, MS and Harry Wolfe of Byhalia, MS; and
Two sisters-in-law: Mae Rene Combes of Walnut, MS and Betty Alexander of Blytheville.
Visitation will be held from 6:30 until 9:30 on Wednesday evening at Carney Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at Carney Funeral Home on Thursday, June 23rd at 11:00 AM with Rev. Billy Hardesty officiating.
Burial will be at Hinds Chapel Cemetery, Lake Cormorant, MS at 3 PM on Thursday.
