Clark E Welch, 78, widower of Betty Overton Welch, died March 4, 2015 at Oakdale Nursing Home, under Hospice care in Searcy, AR. Lifelong residence of Mississippi County as a retired Mechanic and Farm Foreman.
Preceded in death by Parents, Fred and Gladys Welch of Mississippi. He was one of six children with 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
His wife and family was his life and they are what he lived for. He was very proud of them all. He loved family gatherings and holidays, including running to the store for those last minute things Mom needed for cooking. He loved fishing with us kids, or for him it was just baiting our hooks over and over. He could fix anything with a motor. He has probably worked on every John Deere tractor in Miss Co and lawn mower in Blytheville. He worked at John Deere for over 30 years, at the Blytheville, Osceola, and Monette locations. Owned auto garages in Gosnell and Blytheville. And was a Farm Foreman for 10 years. He was a self taught carpenter that remodeled our homes several times. Loved old western movies, especially John Wayne. He loved his constant companion and dog, Maxie. Never met a stranger. Always considered a fair and honest businessman. He was also a people watcher, whether in his front yard or Walmart parking lot, he got a kick out of watching some of the things people would do.
He was a very devoted husband of 54 yrs to our mom, Betty. A loving and wonderful provider for his family. He is survived by his 3 daughters and their spouses: Terry Diane and Wayne Jackson of Springfield, MO. Leane and Rocky Reed of Searcy, AR. Kelly Louanne and James Kundert of Marmaduke, AR.
Nine grandchildren: Angelia Reed - Razer, Michelle Johnson, Christopher Jackson, Johnny Reed, Douglas Jackson, Kayla Sims, Marissa Reed, Wesley Kundert and Lauren Kundert.
