Cynthia (Cindy) Simmons, 61, of Blytheville, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014. She was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas on June 29, 1953 to Dora Long Barnes and James L. Barnes. She was employed at Denso in Osceola, Arkansas, and she was also a hostess at The American Legion.
Cindy was known for her dry sense of humor. She was loyal to her friends, and her family was a priority to her. Her grandsons were her life. She loved showing pictures and talking about them to everyone she met. She was their "Nana" and they were her everything!
She was an Elvis fan, and she loved John Wayne movies. On the days when the Duke's movies were on, people knew not to bother her. She also loved animals, especially her three dogs and her "sometimes" cat. She enjoyed life and she didn't wait for it to happen - she made it happen!
She is preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Lucas Watkins.
She is survived by her daughter, Jamie Simmons of Blytheville;
a stepson, Elliot Simmons (and Jessica) of Jonesboro;
two grandchildren; Ryan Green and Reece Green of Blytheville;
a sister, Sandra Barnes of Caruthersville, MO,
and her former in-laws, Roy and Mary Alice Simmons, of Blytheville, with whom she had a special bond.
There will be a Celebration of Life Visitation on Friday, November 21, 2014 from 4 until 6 P.M. at Carney Funeral Home.
