David Lee Ford, 63, of Blytheville, passed from this life on July 21, 2020 on his way to St. Bernard Medical Center, in Jonesboro, AR.
He was born on April 12, 1957, the son of Mamie Lee (Ford) Horton and AJ Ford Sr in Osceola AR. David was raised in Blytheville, Arkansas.
David liked shooting pool, beautiful women, and partying. His personality drew many people to him. During his 38 years in the nursing home, he has met many wonderful people. One of those people was Maddog, a famous wrestler. He also met a group of students who was so inspired by him that they raised money for a machine that helped him communicate with family and friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents Mamie Lee (Ford) Horton and AJ Ford Sr., four brothers AJ Ford Jr, Earnest Lee Ford, Larry Ford, and Michael Anthony Ford, three sisters Odessa Ford, Mazella Ford, and Mary Williams, three nephews Robert Hopkins Jr, Gary Patton Jr, and Mark Solis.
David leaves to cherish his memories:
Five brothers: Leo David Ford (Martha), of Osceola AR, Clark Gable Ford (Kaye) of Memphis TN, Robert Louis Ford of Little Rock Arkansas, Jamal Dawud’R Akram of Blytheville Arkansas, and Rickey Williams (Telisa) of Baltimore Maryland.
Three sisters: Jessie Beatrice Ford of Jonesboro Arkansas, Diane Solis (George) of Blytheville Arkansas, and Debra Williams of Gosnell Arkansas.
He leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that love him dearly. He will be missed by all!
The family would like to thank Vera James and her family for their love for David and their visits to him over the years while he was in the nursing home.
Grave side service will be on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at New Hope Cemetery in Yabro with Vera James officiating.
