Doris Fowler Burnham, 90, of Blytheville, died at River Oaks Care Center in Steele, Missouri on Friday, December 13. She was born on February 19, 1923 to the late Oscar and Nora Fowler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Burnham, five brothers, and a sister.
She was a member of the Yarbro Methodist Church. She graduated from Holland High School in 1939 where she was very active in sports. She excelled in basketball and baseball, and had many trophies in bowling.
She is survived by her daughter, Carole Burnham Payne and her husband, Joe, of Blytheville;
two grandsons: Joel Payne and his wife Christen of Norfolk, NE , and Jeff Payne of Madison, MS;four great-grandchildren: Tiffany Payne Thompson and her husband William, Jeremy, Jake, and Nick Payne;one great-great-granddaughter, Olivia Kate Thompson.
The family wants to thank the wonderful staff at River Oaks Care Center for her good care and compassion.
Services will be held Monday, December 16 at 2:00 PM, in Carney Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation is at 1:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Joel Payne, Jeff Payne, Jeremy Payne, Jake Payne, Nick Payne, and William Thompson
