Dortha Jean Thaxton

Dortha Jean Thaxton, 83, of Blytheville passed away on Sunday evening June 5, 2022.  She was born on September 23, 1938 in Blytheville AR to William and Icie Catherine (Cherry) Plunkett.  She was a Blytheville High School graduate.  She was of the Baptist faith.  Dortha and her husband, Curtis,  were charter members of North 10th Street Baptist Church, but due to health reasons she was not able to attend church for the last few years of her life. 

During her working years, Mrs. Thaxton was a legal secretary for attorneys Gardner & Steinsiek Law.  Her hobbies included shopping, vacationing, and spending time with her family.  She was married to her high school sweetheart until his death in April 2018.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Thaxton; and her parents, William and Icie Plunkett.

She is survived by her two sons:  Curtis “Donnie” Thaxton, Jr., of Mountain Home AR, and Chadwick Eugene Thaxton, of Parrish AL;  two granddaughters:  Hillary Kathryn Gee and her husband Dustin, of Blytheville AR, and Hannah Elizabeth Thaxton, of Mountain Home AR; two great-grandchildren:  Briggs Rylan Gee and Ella Kathryn Gee, both of Blytheville AR; and a host of friends and other family members that will miss her dearly.
