Eddie Lee McKinney

Eddie Lee McKinney, 77, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2022, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas.  He was born on June 3, 1945, in Tyronza, Arkansas to Silas Edward McKinney and Geneva Leanna Cooksey McKinney.

Mr. McKinney had worked as a farmer and retired after serving 23 years as maintenance for the City of Gosnell.

He loved tractors, riding them and working on them.  He enjoyed country music and dancing, especially line dancing.  He really enjoyed going to hear his brother Donnie playing in his band.  It was hard for him to stay still...he was always working on something  He enjoyed having visitors, sitting outside enjoying God's creation, but most of all he loved his family.  His wife said he never met a stranger.  She said, "he was a lil bit of heaven, her piece of heaven, and they were a match made in heaven."

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Shirley Wright; two brothers-in-law: Frank Humble and Mark Taylor; one granddaughter, Bonnie Taylor; and one grandson, Ethan Taylor.

Mr. McKinney is survived by his loving wife: Linda Link McKinney of Blytheville, AR; one daughter, Terry (Michael) Goins of Blytheville, AR, two stepsons: Carson (Susan) Taylor of Marion, AR, and Chris Taylor of Lake City, AR; four grandchildren: Katelyn Goins, Jordan Taylor, Alec Taylor, and Connor Taylor; three brothers: Charles (Hazel) McKinney, Jerry  (Lilly) McKinney, Donnie (Sharon) McKinney; three sisters: Brenda Humble, Lisa (Richard) Bougher, and Jeanette Taylor; and one brother-in-law; Roy Wright, Sr.; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends that will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be Monday, November 21, 2022, at Carney Funeral Home Chapel in Blytheville, AR from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, with service immediately following with Bro. Bobby Daniels officiating. Burial will be at Dogwood Cemetery in Blytheville, AR.
