Eleanora Pew, 71, formerly of Blytheville, passed away at Heritage of Hot Springs Health and Rehabilitation in Hot Springs, AR.
She was born in Blytheville to Paul Hemphill and Virginia Pinkerton Hemphill on October 9, 1941. She was a homemaker and was married to John Floyd Pew for more than 34 years until his death in 1998.
Mrs. Pew attended Gosnell Baptist Church before she moved to Hot Springs over 20 years ago where she attended Piney Baptist Church.
She was an animal lover, and would often take in strays. Dogs and cats were her favorites and she had a dog named Teddy that was extra special to her.
Eleanora loved to eat, but she didn't enjoy cooking. She was a fan of junk foods, especially from Sonic. She also had to have her coffee.
Other hobbies included working in the yard, which she thoroughly enjoyed, and knitting blankets. Family members have several blankets that she knitted for them.
Her parents and her husband preceded her in death.
She is survived by:
one son: John Jeffrey Pew of Blytheville;
one brother: Jimmy Hemphill (and Carolyn) of Colorado;
three sisters: Phyllis Dexter of Hot Springs, Connie King (and Jim) of Blytheville, and Carrie Carney (and Mike) of Blytheville;
two grandsons: Jeff and John Pew ;
a daughter: Cammie Garcia;
five great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
