Erick Woodruff Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Erick Christopher Woodruff announces his passing. Erick  Woodruff of Lavon, Texas was 52 years old and went to be with the Lord on January 3rd, 2022. Erick will be irreplaceable, greatly missed, and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Erick was born on November 22, 1970 in Blytheville, Arkansas. The son of Aron Woodruff and Dorothy  (Johnston) Tunstall of Blytheville, Arkansas. He graduated from Blytheville High School in 1989 and earned his bachelor’s degree in from Arkansas State University in Computer Sciences.

Erick worked with the City of Jonesboro for ten years and spent the majority of his time there as the IT  Director but also as the Director of Public Works. He made many lifelong connections during his time at the City of Jonesboro and even received a mayoral award during his time there.

For the last several years, Erick worked in construction and had recently opened his own construction  business called Trust, Inc in Dallas, Texas

Erick’s faith was his foundation. If you knew him, you knew his infectious laugh, big smile, and even bigger heart were all characteristics stemming from his love of Jesus Christ. Most recently, Erick was attending One Community Church in Plano, Texas with his wife Tina. Erick was a pillar in his community and his church. He loved lifting those around him and helping those in need.

Erick was an avid Chicago Bears fan, even when they lost, a Harley Davidson rider, and he loved to make and play music for everyone he loved. He had a passion for travel and enjoyed spending time with his wife, Tina, especially if it involved sunshine and water. Maybe his greatest love and joy were his grandchildren, you could see how much he treasured his time with them by the way he lit up anytime he talked about them.

Erick was preceded in death by his father, Aron Woodruff, and his younger brother, Abel Woodruff both of Blytheville, Arkansas. As well as, his sister, Tiffany Mitchell.

Left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife, Tina Woodruff. His mother and stepfather, Dorothy  Mae (Johnson) & Ernest Tunstall. His eldest brother Aaron Woodruff Jr. (Valerie) all of Blytheville,  Arkansas. His three children: Patricia Porter, Ashlie Lee, & Michael Clark (Charli Kaye) are all from Jonesboro,  Arkansas. Erick had six beautiful and beloved grandchildren: Mikayla, Maddie, Mason, King, Cayden, and  Cambri. Erick also has many uncles, aunts, and cousins that loved him dearly. Erick was an incredible man but an even greater friend and the list of those who will continue to honor his legacy and friendship are endless.

There will be a graveside service at Carney Funeral Home in Blytheville, Arkansas on Saturday January 14th,  2023 at 11 a.m. Services by Pastor G. Laine Robinson and Pastor David Henderson III,  both close friends and pastors to Erick. The service will be for family and invited friends only.

Erick and Tina have a scholarship fund together called the Coltharp Woodruff foundation. Together they offer to graduate seniors scholarships in honor of their fathers, Aron Woodruff & Jimmy Coltharp. Over the years, this scholarship has given over $165,000 to students to pursue their dreams. The family will be accepting donations in honor of Erick.
