Frank J. Herren, 72, of Blytheville, died late Saturday evening at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN. Mr. Herren was a retired cotton ginner, and was also retired from Bush Canning Co. Before his retirement, he worked with the Blytheville Auxiliary Police for 21 years.
He was a longtime member of Jesus' Name Tabernacle in Caruthersville, MO. His hobbies included attending gun shows, deer hunting, and playing games on the computer.
He was a kind, tender-hearted man who was known for his love of family, God, church and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Earl Herren and Virginia Forrest Herren.
He is survived by his wife: Bernadine Burgess Herren;
Four sons: James Franklin Herren (and Teresa) of Caruthersville, David Earl Herren of Caruthersville, David Brent Hawkins (and Patty) of Paragould, and Nevin Keith Hawkins of Blytheville;
Four daughters: Patricia Ann McWilliams (and Billy), Thresa Herren (and Billy Reno), and Sherry Jean Pierce, all of Caruthersville, and Nicole Diane Gifford of Blytheville;
Six brothers: Benford Earl Herren of Blue Eye, MO; Larry Herren of Blythe, CA, James Elwood Herren, of Nashville, TN, Butch Herren of Crescent City, CA, Sonny Herren of Dyersburg, TN, and Dennis Herren of Redding, CA;
One sister: Ruth Ann King of Ridgely, TN;
fourteen grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Carney Funeral Home from 5 until 8 Tuesday, September 7.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Carney Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Carney Cemetery.
