Jackie Leon Deason, Sr., 70, Blytheville, passed away on August 25, 2011 in St. Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro. Mr. Deason, a native of Blytheville, was born on April 18, 1941 to Bennie Deason and Ella Bell Doss Deason.
Mr. Deason was a retired carpenter and farmer. He was saved and baptized and a long time member of Trinity Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a step-father, George Woods; a son, Scott Leon Deason; and grandsons, J.W. Deason and Colten Deason; and one granddaughter, Heather Moore.
He is survived by his sons, Joey Deason of Little Rock, Arthur Deason of Little Rock, Richard Deason of Blytheville, Jackie Deason, Jr. of Blytheville, and Jason Deason (Jamie) of Blytheville; his daughters, Connie Amidon (Greg) of Blytheville, Shannon Moore (Rickie) of Gosnell, Penny Jo Cowsert (Jamie) of Paragould; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by ex-wives, Dessie Parsley; Georgia "Bonnie" House; and his primary caregiver Patricia Deason.
Mr. Deason enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, working on the farm, gardening - specifically planting and tending his tomatoes. He also enjoyed watching old movies- especially Westerns starring John Wayne and War movies starring Artie Murphy.
Little Angel will always miss you. The family would like to thank neighbors and very close friends Mr. & Mrs. Billy Payne, Mr. & Mrs. Tex Rich, and Alex Rodriguez.
Funeral services will be at 11:00am on Thursday morning at Carney Funeral Home with Dr. Tommy J. Carney officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00am until services begin. Burial will follow in Carney Cemetery.
