Judy Rae Blakney Harrington, 65, of Blytheville went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the Phil and Flo Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, AR. She was born in Corinth, Mississippi on October 2, 1949 to William and Ester Mae Strickland Blakney.
She was a former longtime employee of Parkview Nursing Home, and was employed as a custodian at Arkansas Northeastern College when she became ill. She was a member of the Woodland Corner Baptist Church.
Mrs. Harrington's hobbies were singing, cooking, and helping other people She was well known for beautiful singing ability and sang often in churches and nursing homes. She enjoyed being a caregiver to elderly people which is why she liked her job at Parkview so much. Her banana pudding and chicken and dumplings were something her family always looked forward to, especially on holiday.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Knight.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Harrington of Blytheville; two sons: Dwayne Harrington (and Sheila) of Dalton, GA and Randy Harrington (and Lisa) of Dyersburg, TN; two sisters: Linda Tracy (and Larry), and Brenda Holt (and Bill) all of West Memphis, AR. five grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; four nephews and five nieces, including one special niece and caregiver, Wendy Langdon, and a host of friends.
