Luis Travieso Romero, 90, of Blytheville passed away on Monday afternoon at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was born in San Antonio Tx on October 8, 1929. He has been in the Blytheville area for most of his adult life. He served in the Army during the Korean war and was a member of the American Legion.
Mr. Romero was a carpenter and worked in construction for many years. There are many buildings in the Blytheville area that he helped build. He had a good work ethic and provided well for his family. In his free time he enjoyed shooting pool with his buddies and gardening. He loved dogs and babies, and they seemed to be drawn to him. He enjoyed fishing and helping cook with the Fish Fry’s at the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Franco Romero; and one son, Jerry Franco Romero.
He is survived by six children: four sons, Luis Romero, Jr., of Osceola AR, Jose Romero, of Arbyrd MO, Jimmy Romero, of Paragould AR, and Rudy Romero, of Ft. Myers FL; two daughters, Magda Amaya, of Naples FL and Mary Gray, of Gosnell AR;
17 grandchildren;
26 great grandchildren;
And 13 great-great-grandchildren.
We will be honoring state regulations regarding Covid. MASKS ARE REQUIRED. Social distancing of six feet required as well.
