Ms. Marjorie Arlene (McGowan) Wright, 100, of Manila, formerly of Blytheville passed away at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lexington Missouri on December 7, 1919 to Charles Fredrick McGowan and Willie Frances Etherton McGowan. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Blytheville for many years.
Marjorie was a nurse in labor and delivery and delivered many babies in Mississippi County. Her family describes her as one of the most precious, sweet, generous, and genuine souls. Marjorie was a mother, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother who adored her family above all else. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter and son-in-law, Doris Frances Larkin and Donald Lee Larkin; four brothers, Robert McGowan, Garthe “Doc” McGowan, Charles McGowan, and Donald McGowan; and one sister, Doris Berger.
Marjorie leaves behind her grandson, David Lee Larkin and his wife Sherri, of Blytheville; and granddaughter, Angela Kay Rush and the late Steve Rush, of Manila;
Five great-grandchildren: Austin, Amber, Dalton, Alexis, and Lauren.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Elmwood Cemetery at 11:00a.m. with Dr. Jimmy Russell officiating. Condolences may be offered at carneyfunealhome.com.
