Mark Anthony Bowman, 64, of Blytheville passed away at home early Tuesday morning, May 27, 2025. He was born on September 5, 1960, at Johnson Air Force Base in Honshu, Japan to his parents, Charles Otis and Nellie Marie Vaupel Bowman. He was a long-time member of Cole Ridge Baptist Church.
Mr. Bowman had been a retired machinist for several years. He had many interests and certifications in welding, automotive, drafting, and machining. He was a wealth of knowledge in many things and a jack of all trades. He enjoyed “junking” and camping with his wife, keeping Sherry’s lawnmower running, and tinkering around the house with anything he could get his hands on.
He had a great love for his children, grandchildren, and extended family. His greatest love was his wife, who, in his words was “his life.” They were married for nearly 45 years at the time of his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Nellie Bowman; his brother, Brian Bowman; his sister-in-law, Lisa Bowman; his grandparents: Fred Vaupel and Nellie Vaupel Schroeder, and Otis Bowman and Mildred Bowman Glover.
Mr. Bowman is survived by his wife, Sherry L. Ivy Bowman, of the home; children: Sean Bowman, of Blytheville; Brooke McHaffey (Joshua), of Woodbine, GA; and Bradley Bowman, of Blytheville; grandchildren: Ivy McHaffey, Levi McHaffey, Viola McHaffey, Jacoby McHaffey, Judith McHaffey, Frances Bowman, and John Bowman; one brother, Craig Bowman (Dawne), of Blytheville; one brother-in-law, Bart Ivy (Alicia), of Prattville AL; his mother-in-law, Frances Ivy, of Blytheville; and his church family, other family, and friends.
Services will be Friday, May 30th, in Carney Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Rusty Byrd, officiating. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. until service begins. Burial will be in Carney Cemetery at a later date. Condolences may be offered at carneyfuneralhome.com.
