Mattie Lou Myers, 63, died early Friday, January 17, at Heritage Square Nursing Center. She was born in Yarbro to Julus and Nora Lee Cash on August 7, 1950.
She was very well thought of and had a great sense of humor. Many people knew "Miss Mattie" from Blytheville Water Works where she retired after 34 years.
She loved going to church and she was one of the most faithful members of Bethany Baptist Church. Her family was very special to her and she really enjoyed going camping with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a 9 year old daughter, Melissa Myers who died in 1980.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Ronnie Myers of Blytheville;
a son, Gary Don Myers (and Tina) of Blytheville;
a grandson, Cody Myers of Blytheville;
three brothers: George Lee Cash of Fort Smith, Charles Cash of Paragould, and Ricky Cash of Blytheville;
three sisters: Patricia (Pat) Inman of Cooter, MO, Bonnie Riggs of Florida, and Betty Jo Sims of Blytheville;
a special niece and caregiver, Melanie Sims Fletcher of Blytheville; and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 11:00 at Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Hyde officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 2 until 4 in Carney Funeral Home Chapel, 1501 Byrum Rd in Blytheville.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
