Michael Connealy Obituary

Mike Connealy, 89, of Blytheville passed from this life January 8, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born in Decatur Nebraska on September 28, 1929, the third of six sons to Mark and Leona Ball Connealy.

Moving from Nebraska to Baytown Texas he attended Robert E. Lee High School. He was voted “handsomest boy in school.” After high school, he joined the Marines serving with the 3rd Batallion 5th Marine Division for two years. He was a Korean vet.

He married Frankie Laverne Fleeman and fathered three children; Michaelene, Mark Anthony “Tonee” and Renee.  After moving to Blytheville he remarried and was dad to his three step-children; Laurie , Barbara, and Brad. He was blessed with three grandchildren; Hillary, Lauren, and Joseph-Michael; five step-grandchildren: two great- grandchildren: Fields and Archie; and thirteen step-great-grandchildren.

Although he loved all of his great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, Mike was very close to his step-great-grandson, Garrett.

Mike retired after 36 years from Prudential Insurance where he won the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table award.   After retiring, he started a new business, Connealy Rentals. He enjoyed 50 years of Lions Club where he served as President and won “Lion of the Year.” He was also a Deacon of First Christian Church and served four years on Blytheville City Council.

He was preceded in death by a son, Tonee; and his parents; his brothers Gene, John, and Joseph     .

He is survived by two daughters: Renee and Michaelene; and three step-children: Laurie, Barbara, and Brad;

A special friend Bonnie Goot;

And his special love Shirley Connealy;

And a host of other friends and family that will miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 11th, 2:00 p.m. at Carney Funeral Home with Rev. Holly Jo Engle officiating. Visitation will be Friday, 12:00-2:00 p.m., prior to service.
