Mickey Prewett Allen, 37, of Blytheville went to be with the Lord on Friday, after a long battle with cancer. Mickey was born in Blytheville in 1975, and was a graduate of Jonesboro High School. He was a general contractor and was manager of Allen Concrete for eight years and then was owner of M& M Concrete Co. Later, he was Sales Manager for SEMO-NEAR Concrete Company. Mickey was a true salesman, and he had a smile that no one could resist.
Work was Mickey's passion, surpassed only by his love for his family, and his church and church family.
Mickey had a goal each week to get a certain number of people to church, and he worked hard at it -and was very successful. Many people came to know the Lord because of his life and his influence.
He was known for his charitable giving in the community. When he knew of a need, Mickey was always willing to help. He sponsored Pee Wee Softball and soccer teams for several years.
Before his illness, Mickey was an avid fisherman, golfer, and snow skier and water skier (even with no skis). He also enjoyed skydiving and parasailing.
He was preceded in death by his biological father, Mickey Allen Prewett, and his maternal grandparents, James Warren and Thella Thomas.
He is survived by his parents: Dennis and Brenda Allen of Blytheville and Mountain Home, AR;
Two brothers: Matthew Prewett (and Tiffany) of Kennett, MO, and Jordan Allen of Cotter, AR;
His Paternal Grandparents: Harrison and Daisy Allen of Blytheville; one niece: Kailee Jo Prewett and one nephew: Kaiden Allen Prewett, both of Kennett, MO; his special companion: a cockapoo named Jersey Girl;and friends too numerous to count.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at First Christian Church on Tuesday at 2:30 P.M. with Dr. Tommy J. Carney officiating. There will be a visitation from 1:00 until service time.
The family requests that any memorial donations be made to The Blytheville Prayer Garden, c/o First Christian Church, PO Box 251, Blytheville, AR 72316 or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
