Mickey Allen Prewett, 62, of Kennett MO, formerly of Dell AR, passed away Monday afternoon at home. He was born February 1, 1951 to Elva and Eileen Prewett of Dell AR.
Mickey graduated from Dell High School and attended Dell Baptist Church until he moved his membership to First Baptist Church of Blytheville in 1974.
After graduating from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service, he worked at Cobb Funeral Home for over 15 years. He then changed careers and farmed for about 18 years, including 5 years with the Dilldine Farms. He spent the last 14 years living in Williamsburg VA where he worked for the Colonial Williamsburg Travel Service. Mickey loved his job as he enjoyed pointing out the beautiful sights and scenery of Williamsburg to the tourists. His employer said that Mickey was an outstanding worker and that he was every company's ideal employee. He won "Driver of the Year" award for several years, and was a great ambassador for the company.
Mickey was a private pilot and enjoyed flying often in his early years. He also had a passion for scuba diving, and after moving to Virginia he enjoyed his favorite sport of golf.
Mickey loved his sons and especially his grandchildren who brought him great joy over the past 9 ½ months. He was affectionately known as "Daddy's Daddy" to Kailee and Kaiden.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by two sons: Mickey Prewett Allen of Blytheville, and Matthew Prewett (and Tiffany) of Kennett, MO;
two grandchildren: Kailee Jo Prewett and Kaiden Allen Prewett of Kennett;
a cousin Eva Tyler (and Richard)of Eminence,MO and a host of friends.
Visitation will be at Carney Funeral Home Chapel Friday morning from 10 until 11, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 with Dr. Tommy J. Carney officiating.
