Neva Diane Shipley

Neva Diane Shipley, 73, from Steele MO, passed away on Wednesday evening at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro AR.  She was born in Neelyville MO on July 3, 1950 to Hershel and Florence (Burns) Skaggs.  She graduated high school and retired after 28 years of working in the Steele Water company accounting office. 

Diane married the love of her life on July 31, 1967.  She and John were married 54 years before his death on March 1, 2022.  They enjoyed life…together.  They travelled, mostly riding on their Honda Goldwing, to all the states, except one…North Dakota.  Diane loved to read on her kindle.  She enjoyed reading about Mafia stories and also love stories, the ones with the clean good story lines.   She also loved to go on cruises. 

Diane was preceded in death by her husband, John Shipley, and her parents, Hershel and Florence Skaggs.

She is survived by her two sons:  Michael and Stephanie Shipley and Wesley and Jeannie Shipley, all of Steele MO; four grandchildren:  Rebecca Hughes, Tabitha Dripps, Taz Shipley, and Sky Shipley; six great-grandchildren; her beloved dog, Barney; and special friends, Tobey Johnson and Myrna McKay.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Carney Funeral Home Chapel, with Jeff Miles officiating.  Visitation will be at 12:00 until service begins.  Interment will be in Pemiscot Memorial Gardens, Caruthersville MO.  Condolences may be offered at carneyfuneralhome.com.
