Scott James Wathen, 62, of Blytheville, passed away at his home in the care of his loved ones. He was born March 2, 1959 to Billy McCall and Bette Catherine Wathen in Chicago IL. He was of the Lutheran faith.
Mr. Wathen was a heavy equipment operator at Shick Steel before relocating to Arkansas. More recently he worked for Kinder Morgan in Blytheville.
He loved to fish, hunt, and cookout. He had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He taught them how to work on cars, and other things. Learning life lessons along the way. He liked to sit outside on his front porch. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Arkansas Razorback fan.
He was preceded in death by his father; one sister, Lorie Wathen; and one brother, Robert Wathen.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Vicki Minyard Wathen, of the home; Three sons: Shawn Murphy of Blytheville, Scott and Jennifer Wathen, of Indiana, and John and Evelyn, of Indiana; Two daughters: Trisha and Stan Hay, of Florida, and Ashlee Wathen, of Indiana; Twelve grandchildren: Olivia, Jay, Kenny, Kassie, Aiden, Bradley, Stan, Jr., Cody, Desiree, Lexii, Nikko, and Rylnne; One great-grandchild, Jaxson; Two sisters: Jeannie Hughes Parkforce and Ann Dimock, both from Illinois; several nieces and nephews; and a lot of friends that he considered “Best Friend.”
