Stephanie Renia Southern, 38, of Gosnell passed away early on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born on February 10, 1983 in Blytheville. She was married here and raised her family in Mississippi County.
Stephanie was employed at D & L Incorporated for approximately 12 years. She started out in the accounts payable and receivables and worked her way up to Human Resources manager. She was good at her job. On a daily basis, she interacted with employees over several states. She was the “go to” person for many. Employees say she was very helpful and easy to talk to. Prior to employment with D & L she worked at the Courier performing accounts payable and accounts receivables duties.
Stephanie enjoyed going out to eat with her friends. She liked getting her hair colored when any gray hairs started to show, but did not like getting her nails done! She enjoyed watching Greys Anatomy and Station 19.
On a personal level she was shy until she got to know you. She loved her mother who passed away November 9, 2019. She also loved her nephew “Spanky” and was anxious to meet her new niece Annzlee, but her illness prevented it. The people most important to her were her husband and her two daughters. Jaycie remembers a vacation the family took to Eureka Springs to see the Passion Play. She enjoyed the time with family.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Burla Renia Gonzales; grandfather, W. T. Fair; grandmother, Claris Green; one uncle, Leon Green; a niece, Jessica Williams; and two fathers-in-law, Roy Green and Ricky Southern;
Stephanie is survived by her husband, Timothy Southern, of Gosnell;
Two daughters: Kaitlyn and Jaycie Southern, both of Gosnell;
Her father, Steve Gonzales;
Her mother-in-law, Joyce Green, of Gosnell;
One sister, Brooke Gonzales and Stuart Lewis, of Blytheville;
One brother, Michael and Sheila Myers, of Mississippi;
Nieces and nephews: Kaila Williams and Corey Hurt, Gaven Gonzales, Graceleigh Bates, Grayson Lewis, Annzlee Lewis, Jillian Meacham, Gabby Forbs, Amanda and Eric Ivy, Jeremy and Jackie Jones, Michael Myers, and Lulu Myers;
One great-nephew, Corey Hurt, Jr., whom Stephanie lovingly called “Spanky;”
One sister-in-law, Sherry Williams and her boyfriend James Martin, both of Blytheville;
Best friend, LaDonna Vaughn;
Her favorite dog, Scooter;
And other friends and family that will miss her dearly.
