Thomas Julian Mitchell

Thomas Julian Mitchell of Burdette, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on January 12th, 2012 after a prolonged illness.

Julian was preceded in death by his parents Roy L Mitchell and Rebecca Thompson Mitchell of Blytheville, Arkansas; his son Gary L. Mitchell and step-son Dewayne Beaver; and brothers Eugene & Dallas Mitchell.

Julian is survived by his wife of 34 years, Geraldine Pearson Mitchell; daughters and son-in-laws Donna and Chuck Dickerson, Rhonda and Barkley Epperson of Chattanooga, Tennessee; a step-daughter Renee Murrell of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; brothers, John Haskin Mitchell of Blytheville, AR and Kenneth Mitchell of Tichnor, AR; sisters Mildred Bruschi of Ringgold, GA and Elizabeth West Warren of Blytheville, AR. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Julian was an usher and dedicated member of Beacon Baptist Church until his illness. He was a devoted fisherman and quail hunter. Julian was a truck driver for approximately 42 years. While the world has lost one, heaven has gained another angel.

The funeral will be at 2:00pm on Sunday, January 15th, at Carney Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00pm on Saturday evening at Carney Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Condolences can be made at www.carneyfuneralhome.com.
